Position Purpose: In a team oriented environment, performs all tasks in area of responsibility in a timely and efficient manner to support the inspection/quality system ensuring all aspects of the delivered/finished article is manufactured in accordance with approved quality system requirements and is certified as compliant to type design requirements or compliant with inservice limitations for Repair Station activities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
1. Manage the compliance of the quality activities of suppliers or our facilities through the application of system, product and process audits to the requirements of the FAA approved data.
2. Certify a supplier or assess our facilitys quality system, personnel, processes and equipment as required to the applicable quality standards.
3. Perform surveillance, source inspections, and first article inspections at suppliers facilities, foreign or domestic and/or monitor the inspection system performance throughout all Operations, Materials and Repair Stations. 4. Coordinate quality assurance program plans, monitor and modify audit schedules, evaluate acceptance test programs, and quality engineering requirements of our suppliers or facilities and review to ensure program effectiveness and integrity.
5. Witness and validate acceptance, qualification, interchangeability, configuration and compatibility tests.
6. Provide liaison support regarding supplier or facility performance to established requirements.
Additional Functions:
1. Conduct product, system or process failure investigations, and provide technical assistance in resolution of quality problems.
2. Verify required corrective action implementation for timeliness and effectiveness.
3. Perform trend analysis of audit results to identify quality system deficiencies.
Other Requirements:
1. Note. Six years related experience with two years of related formal education may be substituted for the Bachelors Degree or an A&P license or ASQ certification as a Quality Technician, Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor or FAA DMIR/DAR designation. Certifications/licenses shall be accompanied with six years aircraft related technical experience of continually increasing responsibility; to include at least four years emphasis in quality control/quality assurance
2. ASQ Certification as Quality Engineer or Quality Auditor preferred.
3. A&P license preferred.
